“Jeune Sculpture” Prize, organised by the French Community of Belgium

The first “Jeune Sculpture” Prize, organised by the French Community in Belgium, took place in 1991. At the time, the competition set up by the Sart-Tilman Open-air Museum only related to outdoor works. Since 1994, a collaboration with the “Centre Wallon d’Art Contemporain” (“La Châtaigneraie”) has allowed small works to be developed. The prize aims to promote the works of young artists. The works of Sylvie Vanderdonckt, Emile Desmedt, Gérald Dederen, Robin Vokaer, Luc Grossen, Edith Dekyndt, Patricia Kaiser, Élodie Antoine, Ronald Dagonnier, Frédéric Gaillard and Cathy Weyders have already been awarded the prize. The positive outcome of their careers since winning the prize justifies the relevance and usefulness of the aid they received.
